CoreCentric Solutions Takes Appliance Parts Recycling Program Nationwide

Dec 12, 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL , December 12, 2011 – A Chicago area program to collect and recycle used appliance parts is expanding nationwide. Appliance parts remanufacturer CoreCentric Solutions (www.CoreCentricSolutions.com), based in suburban Chicago, began its Core Collection program in June as a way for distributors to sustainably dispose of unwanted controls, timers, icemakers and similar parts commonly used in major home appliances such as refrigerators, ovens and dishwashers.

For the pilot program, CoreCentric Solutions set up recycling containers at six locations of Norridge-based Automatic Appliance Parts (www.AutomaticAppliance.com), then launched a communications program and incentives to encourage participation.

Nearly 1,000 used parts have been collected so far that previously would have gone to landfills, according to Badal R. Wadia, CoreCentric Solutions President and CEO. “It’s a win-win program for everyone. Automatic Appliance Parts has a greener disposal option, while we have a continuous inventory of parts and components that we can remanufacture for the servicer community, our customers and partners,” he explained.

As manufacturers introduce appliances with upgraded features and discontinue repair parts for older models, CoreCentric Solutions fills the void, rebuilding more than 20,000 components each month. The company tests parts to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards, and, whenever possible, enhances them with the latest technical upgrades so that they perform and function like new ones. All come with a full six-month guarantee. The company also offers a quick-turnaround return-for-repair service.

“Many of the recycled items were from older appliances, and the parts might not be available if CoreCentric Solutions didn’t collect and rebuild them. Remanufactured parts provide more service opportunities, while helping the economy and environment,” said Jeff Flinn, Automatic Appliance Parts Vice President. His company plans to continue the Core Collection program, and he has endorsed it to fellow members of the national Appliance Parts Distribution Association (www.apda.com).

D&L Parts Company (www.dlpartsco.com) began a Core Collection program this month at its 14 locations in North and South Carolina, while Dey Distributing (www.deydistributing.com) has scheduled a January launch at its 14 locations throughout the North Central United States.
